I really like this book, because of the story line. Anyway, so Karou, she is fabulous art student, loves to do art really. However, she was born and raised in a lair still all the same. Her favorite drawings are of things that she thinks of, creatures. Well, since she lives in a lair and draws weird things, she gets a stalker, and not the good kind. In the end, the stalker is madly in love with her though he just did something horrible to Karou, but you will just have to read this to find out what!

I really liked this book. Karou is an art student who draws monsters in her notebook. Everyone just thinks that she has a very good imagination. The problem is that these monsters are really real. They actually are closer to her than she realizes. Then someone starts following her. She doesn't know who he is or what he wants, but she's going to figure it out, whether she likes it or not.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone is about this girl named Karou. Ever since she was a little girl she has helped Brimstone by constantly running errands for him collecting teeth from other individuals. Her life however consisted of other things as well. Things such as going to art school; Karou has this amazing talent for drawing. Karou would draw her friends, strangers, and her family back at Brimstone's shop... However she not only drew people, she drew monsters. Monsters that were half human with a head of an animal. Karou did not know at the time that the monsters she was drawing was a full army. She thought that only four existed… This was far from the truth. Not only that; but having a normal life was next to impossible. Secrets were kept from her best friend and Kaz, who was once her boyfriend. It became exceptionally hard when an angel named Akiva began to play a huge part in her life. Things between them started out rough. Her hands which contained eye’s on them could hurt others; others like Akiva. Akiva didn’t know what to think of her. He knew one thing for certain; he wanted to find out more about her. Before he could do that, he had to complete his mission which is the only reason he is down on there on Earth. This mission ends up changing Karou’s life in many ways. Karou was once innocent to the darkness of the world, but Akiva helps show her the dangers that lurk in the other world. He helps her find her identity, find hidden truths, find love, and help her find out how their lives intermingled in the past.
