As the name suggests, this book is about war. More specifically, the one taking place in Iraq. That being said, there was a disappointingly small amount of action. There was only one bomb, not counting the one that the narrator continuously has flashbacks to, and two deaths, not counting the flashbacks of Ali. I realize that this is supposed to be insightful and show how war messes people up, but still, I was expecting more from a war book. On another note, it really annoys me that Duffy can't just remember what happened in the oh-so-famous firefight. And the ending, seriously? It could have at least had some kind of ringer, something that you'd remember, like a cruddy quote or something.
