Room by Emma Donoghue

Five-year-old Jack has spent his life living in an eleven-by-eleven foot space his mother calls Room, and while Jack uses his imagination to create wondrous fantasies to entertain himself, his mother dreads the day her son begins to question why they must remain in Room and tries to find a way to escape.

This book was pretty awesome and sad you should read it! It was about this boy Jack he was five years old and he lived in a single room with his mother. Jack has never been outside of that room so he didn’t know there was a world beyond the room. When he turns five he starts asking his mother questions and she slowly starts to reveal that there is a world beyond these walls of the room. My favorite character was of course Jack I felt so bad for him not knowing until he was five that there was a life out there besides in the room he has been stuck in.

This book is sad, but it is a must read. This boy named Jack and his Ma live in a room that is 11 foot by 11 foot. His mom has been in that room for 7 years and she has never left. She was kidnapped by a man that Jack calls Old Nick. Jack sleeps in a wardrobe at night when Old Nick comes. During the day Jack and his mom watch tv, play games, and read books. Jack doesn't know that there is another world outside he, just thinks that there is stuff just floating around outside. At night his Ma tries to send a signal by turning on and off the lamp several times, but it never helps. His mom tries to come up with a plan to get out because she can't stay there anymore and Old Nick has gotten agressive. You will have to read if you want to know if they make it out or not.
